Greetings, I have put some pictures of newspaper articles and
special pictures for all to see. (I will add more later)
Hi Jerry,
We just returned from a Midwest trip which included driving old highway 9 the
length of Iowa. Beautiful trip this time of year. (Though really not accustomed
to the humidity as we live on the high desert of Colorado!)
Stopped in Estherville to visit an elderly aunt of Mary's on her fathers side.
We spent several hours driving the town and taking many pictures of places
relating to Mary's life there.
We found the so called 'twin' house that is in one of the old pictures we sent
you earlier. I have attached them to this mail. No sign of another house that we
could find any where near this one. Maybe they weren't 'twin' houses? Big
mystery since the term seems to be in the family history. We talked to some old
timers and no one knew about the houses. Note they have converted the screen
porch and the elaborate scroll work must have gotten too much to paint! Not many
chickens in the yard these days either. Hope you are well.
Regards, Mary and Dennis (Thanks Mary)
One of the twin houses Richmond Reed Hudson built for his two daughters
Jessie (Hudson) Seevers & Maud (Hudson) Dayton.
They had a double wedding in Estherville.
Robert Dale Seevers and Jessie (Hudson) Seevers,
sitting on the porch with a neighbor child.
Thank you, Mary (Keeler) Young!!!
